Oh yea, I'm thankful for his romance also.

I am thankful for my children. From oldest to youngest or youngest to oldest and all in between. They each have wonderful qualities that make me proud of them. We tend to focus on the bad things in the day, but children are blessings, whether they are biological or step.

Andrya, you are always a bright light to me. I love your ability to put your thoughts out on paper.
Alex, you are special in that you always look for the fairness in life and what is right.
Bart, I am thankful that you are in my life for your caring and always being there for dad and I.
TJ, you are warm and thoughtful, always sending notes to tell me you care.
Devin, your smile and dedication to your children impresses me daily.

My Aunts, I love you dearly. I've been in Monterrey Mexico almost a week. People get all excited when you tell them that you are going to Mexico for work. They think it is a vacation. Alas, I wish. I go to work to be in the factory for 7am. I leave at 7pm. Is there daylight? I wonder. Weekend? I wonder. I will actually take Sunday off this week. I will go out and take some pictures for all to see. Monterrey is an industrial town. There is a lot of industry here. The sad thing is that so many US companies have been outsourcing their product here. We wonder why our country is losing jobs. We won't as consumers pay the higher prices, consequently, we go out of the country to manufacture. So Sad......

Old Fashioned Girls

I read a post the other day by a girl that she was an "old fashioned girl". I wanted to respond to her that what she thought was "old fashioned" was so far off from my reality. Instead I thought I'd say it here.

When I think of "old fashioned" in values, I think that relationships go....
1. Get to know someone
2. Establish a relationship with that special person.
3. Make sure that you can communicate, get along, fall in love.
4. Get engaged
5. Get married
6. Make sure you have a foundation within your marriage
7. Have children

This young person that calls herself "old fashioned" has one child and another on the way. She dated the guy for a couple of months and decided to have a family. No long term relationship, no stability between them. They have the baby. They fight. They live together for a few months. They break up. They "hook up" every once in awhile. She decides that is stable enough to have yet another child to try and develop a relationship. They never get back together. She blames him for "getting her pregnant"..... I thought it takes two to make a baby, and I guess I'm a little more "old fashioned" in that I feel a woman is the only one that is in control of her body. Period.

I just don't get some young peoples idea of "old fashioned" and actual values and morales....

I guess that's enough said and off my chest, finally.

What a week

What a week for a major reality check. Life is too short. It is hard to balance your life. What I do know is you need to keep focus on what is important in life, your family, your self esteem, your happiness. I had a dear friend pass away unexpectedly this week. He was 43. He and his family were at my wedding and we can't understand why he died. The autopsy has no reason, now comes in CSI. I also learned that as humans, when we see someone in trouble, we need to stop and ask if they are ok. He may have lived if someone had done that. Thats another story. What a shame, a life cut so short, so tragically, he will be so missed. Love you John Bell.

Then on Wednesday, Tommy and I had to go to another wake for a long time friend of the family. Now granted, this gentleman was 93, lived a long, wonderful life, but he was quite the man, farmer and family man. He will be greatly missed for his knowledge and humor. Putting him to rest on Thursday was emotional. I have a husband who has the gift of gab and he wanted to talk. I got nervous, he can go on, but he has such a blessed way of telling a story that he got us all to smile or laugh. God Bless you Wally Schultz.

Finally today we had to go to yet another memorial. Another friend, another passing. This one was a selectman up here in our local area. He was hard on himself physically, but it was still unexpected. He was only 57. He had a good life, hard living man, hard working man. God be with you Stanley Buzzell......

Yes, a hard week. A blessing week. I need to remember that there is more to life than just work. Love youall....

Friday

Ok, here I will try this due to my Cuz Alison.
